Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Superpowers and My Favorite Superhero Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. These are all things I can wholeheartedly get behind.

This week’s topic is Bookish Superpowers I Wish I Had. This is such a great topic and I had a ton of fun with it. To get even more into the spirit of this topic, I’ve also listed some of my favorite superhero books and graphic novels at the bottom of this post!

Top Ten Bookish Superpowers I Wish I Had

  1. The ability to have an author’s backlist immediately available to me when I fall in love with their newest release.

  1. The ability to finish every blog review in 30 minutes flat.

  1. To be able to tell if a book is going to put me in a reading slump so I can avoid that bad boy.

  1. The ability to tell if a book has a dog that dies so I can throw it against a wall and never read it.

  1. To be able to jump into the world of my books, BUT ONLY THE WORLDS I WANT TO GO TO. Not every world. No, thank you.

  1. To have a light on my forehead that says when I’m reading so others know I’m unavailable to talk.

  1. The ability to stay awake and read as long as I want without ever being sleepy or groggy the next day.

  1. The ability to magically switch a book between ebook, audiobook, and a physical book depending on how I’m feeling at the moment – but only having to buy one copy of the book.

  1. The ability to remember every single book I’ve ever read and recall what I thought about them.

  1. To be able to give infinite books to my friends and family (while still supporting authors, indie publishers, and indie bookstores)

BONUS: Some of My Favorite Books With Superheroes

The Oracle Code by Marieke Nijkamp (Graphic Novel)

Mary Tyler MooreHawk by Dave Baker (Graphic Novel)

Heart Attack by Shawn Kittelsen (Graphic Novel)

Loki: Journey Into Mystery by Katherine Locke (Novel)

Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman (Novel) *not technically superheroes here, but you’ll recognize some names from Marval fame.

  1. I love #4. I try so hard to avoid books where the dog dies.

Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.

  2. To be able to give infinite books to friends and family is a great one!

  3. Great list! I, too, want to read all night long and NOT feel tired the next day. Great superpower! 😀

  4. Remembering the books I read would be helpful. I forget EVERYTHING!

    1. ME TOO. I constantly go to goodreads to check out details on a book only to see I read it four years ago. Oops.

  5. These are some great superpowers. Avoiding a book that would put me into a reading slump would be great.
