Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists and a love of lists, and I also love both those! This week’s topic is “Favorite Books of 2023.”
I read so much excellent fiction this year, which made making this list exciting, but also very difficult. Full disclaimer, there are more than ten books on this list. I tried! I really did! But, there were just too many good books.
These are ALL 2023 releases, with the exception of my Best of Back Shelf Reviews bonus category, which lists my favorite backlist reads of the year.
- Best Novel – The Endless Vessel by Charles Soule
- Best Novella – Nothing But the Rain by Naomi Salman
- Best Audiobook – The Phoenix King by Aparna Verma
- Best Horror/Weird Fiction – A Season of Monstrous Conceptions by Lina Rather

- Best Young Adult – Forgotten Rebellion by A.J. Park
