This is the first post in my series of posts on Free Comic Book Day 2024. For those not familiar with Free Comic Book Day (FCBD), it’s a yearly in-store event where participating comic book stores will have limited amounts of free comic books for their visitors. This year, the event will be on May 4, 2024. Not only do we have a date, but we also have announcements on the comic books that will be available! Below, I’ve listed all the comics that are a part of FCBD 2024, categorized them by their rating, and answered some frequently asked questions. Stick with me – it’s a lot of info. But the free comic books are worth it.

What is Free Comic Book Day?
Free Comic Book Day is a single day (May 4, 2024) when participating comic book shops give away comic books for free to individuals who visit their shop.
Do I have to buy anything to get the comics?
Each store has their own policy on how many of the free comics you can receive, but you will get at least one free comic if you enter a participating store on May 4, 2023. Check with your retailer on their policies.
How can I find a participating store near me?

Which comics will my store have?
Check with your store to see what titles they will have! All stores will have the Gold level comics. However, they may not have all the Silver level comics.
What’s up with the silver and gold?
My understanding is that participating stores should have all gold level comics. They may not have all silver level comics, but they may. Check with your local stores to see what they will have in stock.
