The Sunday Post – March 15th, 2020

Hey Guys! Today is March 15th, also known as Day 2 of Social Distancing for me! Covid-19 is officially where I live, and I’m reading so many books to keep away anxiety. Today I’m participating in the Sunday Post, a blog meme link-up hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. This is my first time joining in, so welcome if you’re new here!

This past week I reviewed a LOT of books (and saw so much growth in my blog which is exciting!). I reviewed quite a few titles outside my comfort zone, and it was actually a really fun experience. All my reviews this past week were either 4 or 5 stars, which is insanely good for me. I think I’m getting better at being able to pick out books that I will actually really like, you know?

  1. Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett – Adult Fantsy/Sci-Fi
  2. The Oracle Code by Marieke Nijkamp – YA Graphic Novel
  3. The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo – Adult Fantasy Novella
  4. Unexpected Stories by Octavia E. Butler – Adult Sci Fi Short Story Collection
  5. The Body Double by Emily Beyda – Adult Mystery/Thriller (with twists!)
  6. Everything is an Emergency by Jason Adam Katzenstein – Adult Illustrated Memoir about the author’s experience with OCD

Expect some fun things this next week (because of all my reading while socially distancing myself)! There will be lots more reviews: a lot of ARCs, some science fiction, some speculative novellas, a non-fiction, and more graphic novels! Yay for niche books!

OH, AND I am planning a really fun reread of The Hunger Games series over the month in preparation for for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes prequel coming out in April. I’ll share more info on my upcoming series of posts for my reread this upcoming Saturday.

I think that’s about all my news! Stay safe out there and keep on reading!

  1. Wow, you are reading a ton! I find myself really distracted by the coronavirus stuff and worried about my kids, who both have to come home from college unexpectedly 😭 And it’s been so hard to concentrate on reading🙁

    1. Reading is the only thing saving my anxiety right now! I don’t have kids, but it’s stressful figuring out work and making sure to stay healthy! Hopefully your kids won’t completely distract you! But at least they are home and safe 🙂

  2. Ooo I think a re-read of The Hunger Games series over this month, ready for the release of the new prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes sounds like a great plan, Hannah. Stay safe and keep reading! 🙂

  3. Social distancing is the new normal, I guess, for a while. Crazy isn’t it? Hope you are able to stay well and anxious free! It’s hard at the moment!

And yay for the good reviews! 🙂

  4. Aww, what a cute dog. I’m planning on rereading The Hunger Games too. I love that series. Have a great week!

  5. Glad you’re making the best of your isolation! We’ve been working on the house, but I’ve been too distracted to read. Need to fix that.

  6. Welcome to the Sunday Post. Thank god for our love of books right?! I can’t imagine not being able to read as much. These times have to be even harder for people who don’t have a hobby like this.
    Stay safe and happy reading.
